Description
An etching depicting a tall tenement building that has been added to and renovated in various ways over the years. A small courtyard stands at the base of the building, where a tree and grass grows. A stone doorway stands open with a large plank of wood crossing the entrance.

Hopes Court and Trunks Close surround Moubray House. The Honourable. Mr. (John) Baron Maul, one of the Barons of the Court of Exchequer in Scotland, acquired property beside Trunk's Close from Archibald Hope. Various members of the Hope family are mentioned, but not Dr. Hope. Mrs. Hope occupied the house in Bryson's Close acquired by John Johnston from Andrew Bryson.
Freddy Theys is a Belgian engraver of town scenes, botanics and portraits. He visits Scotland annually.
