Located in the south-west of Edinburgh, the village of Juniper Green was established in the eighteenth century around Colinton Castle, Colinton Parish Church and the Water of Leith.
The Co-op Store was owned and controlled by its customers. It was the people's store with every member having a real stake in it through the dividend system.
