This item is a collector's card given away with 'The New Hotspur' magazine. An annotation on the reverse reads 'Famous teams in football history, 2nd series. Hibernian 1951-1952. By winning the Scottish First Division championship in successive years, 1950-51 and 1951-52, Hibs bought their total of league wins to four. they have also won the Scottish Cup twice, and have been defeated finalists six times.
In the 1952 League-winning team the "Famous Five" foward line of Smith, Johnstone, Reilly, Turnbull and Ormond was one of the most prolific goal-scoring lines in British Club football. The players shown, who amassed the total of 120 international caps between them, are :- Back Row - Combe, Howie, Paterson, Younger, Govan, Gallagher and Buchanan. Front Row - Johnstone, Smith, Reilly and Turnbull. A set of sixteen. Presented with The New Hotspur.'
The name Ormond has been added in pencil to the list of players in the front row.
