Description
Image shows earth works in the construction of Rosebery Reservoir. Supports can be seen holding up the sheer bankings of the excavation. layers of rock can be seen in the soil on the sides of the excavation and show signs of being cut or chiselled away during the digging works.

Rosebery Reservoir is a small body of water which stands near Gorebridge in Midlothian. Opened in 1880 it is a compensation reservoir which collects surface water from the Moorfoot Hills. It is mostly used today for pleasure fishing and is the habitat of rainbow trout, pike and perch.
