The crew of the "Equator" look out to sea. One man is standing in a small boat attached to the side of the main craft. Another two are holding on to the ship's rigging. A mast can be seen to the right. All the men are wearing hats.

The image is from the photograph album entitled 'The Cruise of the Equator' of Robert Louis Stevenson's travels around the Gilbert Islands and Samoa in 1889.
