The Acropolis of Athens is home to some of the best preserved architectural icons of ancient Greek civilisation. The Parthenon at the top was constructed between 447-432 BC. In the foreground is the Temple of Theseus (also known as the Temple of Hephaestus), construction of which began at around the same time as the Parthenon but some experts believe it was not completed for some three decades.
