A statue at the Armistice clearing in the Compiegne forest where the armistice was signed. The sculpture memorialized the men of France who liberated Alsace and Lorraine and shows the German eagle slain by a sword. An inscription on the base reads "To the heroic soldiers of France, defenders of the Fatherland and of Right, Glorious Liberators of Alsace and Lorraine".
