Newspaper cutting, Distinguished Conduct Medal for Leith Soldier
The cutting shows a picture of Sergeant John Walker, above of which is the headline 'D.C.M For Leith Soldier'. Underneath the picture the text reads;
Sgt JohnWalker Information (1ST World War 1914 - 1918) 7th Bttn. Seaforth Highlanders (transferred from the Scots Greys), who has been awarded the D.C.M for his work in the big advance on September 23. He is manager for Messrs Arthur Bros., butchers, Comiston Road.
He is an old member of the 49th Company Boys' Brigade.
The picture is mounted on the back of the postcard to possibly make it more durable. Cutting from the Edinburgh Evening News.
