Description

The picture shows the Falls of Braan in the centre of the picture, flowing downwards over a steep, jagged rock gorge which carry on to either side of the river and are visible in the forefront of the photograph. The arch of a small stone bridge is just visible through trees to the top of the picture.

Rumbling Bridge, near Dunkeld in the Perth & Kinross area of Scotland, is a stone bridge which crosses the River Braan, a tributary of the River Tay. The River Braan travels through Craigvinean Forest, and runs via a gorge which forms the Falls of Braan. The Rumbling Bridge allows for crossing the bridge over the point of the falls, and the ferocious rumbling noise which comes from this, is where the bridge takes its name.
