The evening was clear & bright and & starry, & the carols rang out so clearly from one end of Imtarfa to the other - all the old familiar favourites. Late at night a Blighty mail arrived & oh, such a mail, my letters kept me going well in to the night & this morning! All the brass-hats have been round visiting us this morning. A Xmas dinner is now the order of the day & later a concert for the "up patients".

1.1.19. Imtarfa Hosp: Malta.
Another year entered & may it see Peace - & Blighty soon for me! Great rumours of a Hospital Ship arriving soon!

3.1.19. Imtarfa Hosp: Malta.
Just heard - 9p.m. - that a hospital ship is in & that I go aboard tomorrow - hip! hip-hurrah! "There's a ship that's bound for Blighty" will be my even-song!

4.1.19. Hospital Ship "Goorkha"
Well, here I am, back on my old friend the "Goorkha"! I bid adieu to the "H.Block" Imtarfa at an early hour this morning - it made me feel quite sad in a way, quitting my little verandah "dug out" - after almost 3 months' stay there! We do not sail till to-morrow. It's nice coming back to the old "Goorkha" & the staff gave me such a welcome!
