Title
Edinburgh Castle and Princes Street
Description
Edinburgh Castle sits on a rocky outcrop, overlooking a large part of the city centre. The fortification has defensive walls some of which are crenellated. The half moon battery, with its gun loops is prominent. Apart from the Castle the National Gallery, Royal Academy, Princes Street Gardens and Princes Street can be seen. The gardens have pathways cutting through the grass lawns, some of the lawns are on a slope. Trees and bushes are also within the gardens. The road and pavement of the street are busy with traffic and people. The shop fronts have canopies pulled down over the windows. The traffic on the road includes trams, horse-drawn carriages and horse-drawn carts. Statues are along one side of the street and have park benches between them.
