Title
Cracker Johnnie
Description
Standing on an Edinburgh street, a man wearing a grey coat with a couple of bags slung across his body holds aloft some nutcrackers to attract passersby.

The poet, Donald Campbell has written a poem inspired by this character by Holt:

Cracker Johnnie

Cracker Johnnie told the tale
To everyone who bought a poke
Of his fine filberts; with the sale
Johnnie always liked to crack a joke.
This was unminded by most folk
For, although jokes were often stale,
Johnnie was a decent bloke.
