Title
No. 1. Waking, an illustrated page from 'A Day in a Child's Life'
Description
In the top half of the page, framed by two sunflowers, a child lies asleep in a four-poster bed beside an empty chair. Behind the bed a curtain is half drawn showing a vase of pink roses and a window seat. In the lower half of the page is the music - a treble clef stave with the song, plus the piano accompaniment. The words are as follows:
'No. 1. Waking.

1. Wake up! the sun is shining
Upon the window-pane,
And hark! the noisy sparrows
Are wide awake again;
Each little bud and blossom
Has lifted up its head
To...'
Below the music are two leaf motifs in mirror image to each other.
