Craigentinny Mausoleum
Description
A classically designed stone Mausoleum with a rounded roof. The roof and upper section are heavily carved with angels, lions and swags of flowers. The side panel is carved with a biblical scene depicting the overthrow of the Pharaoh in the Red Sea. Trees can be seen in the background.

Also known as the Miller Mausoleum, the Craigentinny Marbles were built as a tomb and monument to William Henry Christie Miller. Miller, a Member of Parliament, owned Craigentinny House and its surrounding estate. He left instructions that after his death in 1848, a classical tomb should be constructed in a field on his estate. This was completed in 1856. Today the site is surrounded by bungalows built in the 1930s.
