Dining Room, Firle
The dining room at Firle Place in Lewes, Sussex. The room has a high ceiling with a heavy plasterwork cornice. Ionic columns support the ceiling. On the walls and above the fireplace hang large oil paintings and on the far wall a central mirror is flanked on either side by double doors. In the centre of the room a dining table is covered with a white cloth and laid for a meal with a candelabra in the centre. Chairs surround the table and line the walls.
