Military Promenade (General Francis Dundas, Sir Henry Jardine, Sir Robert Dundas of Beechwood, Bart., Captain Hay, the Late Earl of Eglinton, and the Misses Maxwell, etc.)
A satirical etching of Edinburgh society members out for a walk. The crowd consists of soldiers walking with ladies (some of whom are also wearing military dress). The men are wearing military uniforms and kilts. The ladies are wearing empire line dresses and many have feathered hats and veils on. One of the gentlemen has also been drawn wearing a veil.
