David Copperfield is Charles Dickens' eight novel and was published between 1849 and 1850. It is considered by many to be his greatest work, and was Dickens' own favourite. It is his first novel to be written in the first person narrative.
The eponymous character, David Copperfield is believed to be inspired by the author himself and David even ends up becoming a successful writer.
David Copperfield finds lodgings at Mr Micawber's house. Micawber continually owes money and even spends time in the debter's prison. After release, he takes several jobs, before finding work at Mr. Wickfield's office where he uncovers Uriah Heep's wicked plots.
