Lithograph from 'Robertson's Sculptured Stone's of Leith'
Three stone carvings from Leith in Edinburgh. Two of the carvings contain only text whilst the third shows several scenes. These include a ship and two men carrying a barrel suspended from a stick balanced between their shoulders. In this sculpture there is also a piece of hoisting machinery which is powered by a man in a circular treadmill which is being used to lift a barrel. The final scene shows a building.
