The Queen and members of her family spent five days in Edinburgh in May 1977 as part of her Silver Jubilee Tour. The people of Edinburgh enjoyed two public holidays during her visit, one marking Victoria Day and another special day for the Queen's Silver Jubilee. A programme of events was organised including Royal Processions through the city and fireworks on Calton Hill.
