From open land dotted with trees people gather by an obelisk to take in this scenic view of Edinburgh. Most noticeable are the monuments on Calton Hill, Nelson's Monument being the most recognisable and Edinburgh Castle. Above the roofs of the buildings church spires rise up to punctuate the skyline.

This view appears to be taken from Warriston Cemetery. Warriston Cemetery was designed by David Cousin and opened in the early 1840s. It is situated roughly 1 mile north-west of Calton Hill in Edinburgh.
