Description
Ancient houses stand at Port Hopetoun on the Union Canal. The stone houses are covered with dirty rendering and have pantile roofs. An external staircase leads up to the wooden entrance into the house. Shops occupy some of the adjacent buildings including Stevenson's Shaving & Haircutting Room. The ghostly shaped of women and men can be seen on the street.
