Title
Land Army Parade 1943
Description
Members of the Women's Land Army, formed during the Second World War, march down Princes Street. The women in the Land Army wear uniforms with breeches, long woollen socks, shirts, jumpers and a cap. The pavements of the cobbled street are lined with crowds of people gathered to watch the procession. Tram tracks are visible on the road and a sign on a post in the middle of the street points people to the nearest shelter. This is part of the section of Princes Street between Hanover Street and South St David's Street.
