Description
This aftern., the Governor, Lord Methuen, came aboard to say "how-do-you-do!" He brought the latest war news - i.e. that [?], Lille & Bruge have all fallen into our hands! There are a number of British battleships & destroyers in the harbour. Alongside of us lies "The Lord Nelson" & coming in we passed "The Superb".

Oct:19th Imtarfa Hospital - Malta.
The latest change of address! We disembarked at 8a.m. to-day. I came up here by ambulance & am now "safely settled-in". Imtarfa is some 9 miles out of Valletta & is the [?] hospital. It is beautifully situated standing high up on the hill over-looking the old town Citte Vecchi. Beautiful outside, but remains to be seen if it is beautiful inside - I ha' ma doots! First impressions
say "certainly not"!

Oct:21st Imtarfa Hospital - Malta.
Not much to chronicle these days - just bed, everlasting bed! The weather is unkind, we've "existed" in a [?] ever since our arrival & it's not nice! What an isolated spot - me no likes it!!

Oct:28th Imtarfa Hospital - Malta.
Still "interned" & no word of a move-on Blightywards.
