Description
7 "sick sisters" on board, 126 officers & 380 "tommies". We have dropped anchor a couple of miles out from the "sea front", but do not sail till to-morrow. Malta in 3 days we're told & we tramship there. The weather is perfect & Salonique looking so beautiful. I feel most terribly sad at bidding adieu to Macedonia - good-bye for ever I suppose.

Oct:15th Hospital Ship "Goorkha".
We sailed at 6a.m. to-day & are now well underway. Quite smooth so far, but thick & cloudy overhead & looks as if we might be in for a "dusting". Been kept severely in my "crib" all day, much to my wrath!

Oct:18th Hospital Ship "Goorkha".
We are just getting in to Malta. Have had a v. comfie voyage across. The sea like a mill pond up till last night, when we had a task of the [?] a hot, steamy wind. This old tub "swayed about" most horribly! Later. We got into Malta this aftern., but do not disembark until to-morrow. Malta looks most attractive ( - have my crib out on deck - ) it was just beautiful sailing in to the
harbour, the whole picture so very Eastern & later when the sun was setting the lights & shades were wonderful. Now the moonlight is bewitching & over all a fairy-like blue sheen.
