Title
Robert Gourlay's house in Libberton's Wynd
Description
A large building is under construction. Walls are being built and workers can be seen near the top of the walls. One of the roofs has exposed rafters and masonry. Roughly hewn steps lead up to the entrance way of the building. An arched entrance sits underneath an elevated walkway. Piles of rubble are in front of the house and labourers are working beside it. A horse-drawn cart is making its way along the road. A labourer with a spade walks through a gap in a fence. In the background is Edinburgh Castle sitting on a rocky outcrop.
