Description
A child sits on the steps leading to the doors of a house in a narrow street in Edinburgh. The girl wears a dress and has her legs crossed over. The path in front of her is an uneven surface. The houses are mostly stonebuilt. The house beside the child is mixture with stonework and wooden planks. The building has wooden shutters which are closed. All the buildings have windows and chimney stacks.
