Davie Acquoroff - street singer
Description
The poet, Donald Campbell has written a poem inspired by this character by Holt:

Davie Acquoroff

Davie's days are nearly done.
Whisky always takes its toll.
That voice is well and truly gone.

He had his time out in the sun.
So much has passed from his control.
Davie's days are nearly done.

He's forced to suffer all alone
a solitude he'll barely thole,
his voice is well and truly gone.

His gift of song's no longer fun;
He finds himself without a role.
Davie's days are nearly done.

A voice so powerful it could stun
the senses of one's very soul.
that voice is well and truly gone.

Oh, he can neither hide nor run;
in death's ranks he'll soon enrol.
His final hours have now begun,

His voice is well and truly gone.
Whisky always takes its toll.
Davie's days are nearly done.
