St Cuthbert's Church

Description

A mass of headstones is in the churchyard of St Cuthbert's Church in Edinburgh, the gravestones taking many shapes and forms. The Church has a large steeple and clockfaces are on each of the walls of the tower below. At the other end of the church are two smaller towers with cupola roofs. In the background on the higher ground are buildings of Edinburgh Castle.

St Cuthbert's Church sits below Edinburgh Castle, to the east of Lothian Road. First records of a church on the site date from 1127. The current building was completed in 1894, retaining the tower that was added to the previous building in 1789.
