Description
Air Raid Wardens, recruited for civil defence during the Second World War, line up for inspection. The wardens are both male and female and dressed in uniform and helmets. Winston Churchill wears a double-breasted coast and a top hat. He carries a walking stick. He is accompanied by the Chief Constable who wears police uniform and the Lord Provost, Sir William Young Darling who is dressed in military uniform. There are houses in the background.
