St Giles Kirk, often called St Giles Cathedral, is situated on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh. St. Giles was pronounced a 'cathedral' twice during it's long history, first from 1633-38 and then again from 1661-89. It was Charles II who gave St. Giles the title of cathedral from 1661-89. This is believed to be the oldest lead statue in Edinburgh, and possibly the oldest lead equestrian statue in the UK.
