Description
Edinburgh Castle with half-moon battery is the background for the busy street scene in the Grassmarket below the Castle. On either side of a road are houses and shops. One of the shopfronts has trousers and jackets on display in its window. Men and women carry sacks and others baskets on their backs. Carts with bales on them are beside a street lamp. A horse-drawn cart is being lead by a man. On the road beside them are the tracks from other carts.
