After being temporarily located in a house in Fyfe's Close, the Orphan Hospital moved in 1735 to its own building designed by William Adam on land near Lady Glenorchy's Chapel and Trinity College Church.
Lady Glenorchy's Chapel was built in 1772 and demolished in 1845. It was replaced with a church in Roxburgh Place. It stood on the present day Glenorchy Place, behind Edinburgh's Omni Centre, Greenside Place.
