Description
Buildings and trees surround the clock tower and main building of the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh on Lauriston Place. The roofs of the buildings have a variety of styles and include many spires. In front of the hospital is a road and directly opposite is a large stone gateway which is the entrance to a school.

Edinburgh Royal infirmary moved to its Lauriston Place site in 1879 having been previously located at Robertson's Close and then Infirmary Street. It moved again in 2003 to a new site at Little France, and the Lauriston Place site is now the location for the Quartermile development.
