Title
The Regalia of Scotland
Description
Edinburgh Castle sits on a rocky outcrop. The fortification has several buildings which have windows and chimneys. The half-moon battery has gun loops in its walls. The castle is surrounded by defensive walls some of which are crenellated. Watchtowers are positioned along the battlements, including the Esplanade. A Union Jack flies from a flagpole rising from a tower. In the foreground are a crown, sceptre, sword and chain of office. They sit on a red cushion which is placed on a carved stone plinth. A cloth with heraldic figures including a lion and a unicorn covers part of the plinth.
