Bertrams Limited was a papermaking machinery engineers in Sciennes, Edinburgh. It was founded in 1821 by brothers George and William Bertram. Bertrams was very much a family orientated company, producing it's own Bertram Family Magazine which featured articles on their sports clubs, social activities and employee news.The company closed in 1985 mainly as a result of foreign competition and recession in the paper industry.
This collection has been made possible thanks to Bill Hall who followed his father and uncle into the Bertrams workplace and shared with us many photographs and information on the company.
