Piershill is a residential area of Edinburgh. It is situated close to the north-east corner of Holyrood Park, and about 1 mile west of Portobello. The area was home to the Piershill Cavalry Barracks between the late 18th century and their demolition in the mid 1930's. The area where the barracks stood is now occupied by Piershill Square, East and West, part of which is shown in this image.
