Peffermill House
Description
A detail of the stone doorway at the foot of the rounded central tower of Peffermill House in Edinburgh. The surrounding walls are crumbling but the stone carving above the door is well-preserved. It has a coat of arms, with a cherubic figure and a latin inscription beneath a scrolled arch. In the centre and at the top is a circular emblem containing another inscription.
