This photograph is taken from a collection entitled 'Edinburgh (St Leonard's second section) improvement scheme 1929 vol.1'.
St Leonard's is a small residential district of Edinburgh. It is located to the east of the Meadows and the west of Holyrood Park.
Causewayside, or Causeyside, formed part of an ancient approach to Edinburgh from the south. It now refers to a section of road from West Preston Street, close to the Meadows, to Duncan Street.
