Dunbar Castle
The ruins of Dunbar Castle are built around a rocky outcrop in the sea. The remains of various towers and archways can be seen. The distinction between the ruins of the manmade fortress and the rocks is not clear in the painting. A stone foot bridge, on which three people stand, leads to the ruin. The sky above is gloomy and cloudy. The Isle of May and Bass Rock are visible on the horizon.
