Edinburgh Castle from the Vennel
In the background is Edinburgh Castle with fortifications which include gun loops and crennelated walls. A flag flies over the half moon-battery. In the foreground is a narrow walkway. There are people walking in the vennel which is on a slope. Houses are on either side of the walkway. Stairs lead up to some of the houses. The end of the vennel opens up on to another street.
