Description
The top of a carved stone column from the 1886 Exhibition gates at the Meadows, Edinburgh. The column has place names engraved in it and a band at the top with carved plaques on it. One plaque has the name Ireland on it and a picture of a harp. Another has Dumfries and a carving of an angel. On top of the column is a large unicorn supporting a shield with the coat of arms of Edinburgh on it. He is also holding a flag. In the background are tenement buildings.
