Description
A sepia photograph of four men (one cut off the image) in working clothes standing on the South Queensferry side of the Forth Rail Bridge. Two of them are holding tools. The man on the right is Edward McRobbie, a deep sea diver who worked on the foundations of the bridge at the bottom of the Firth of Forth.

Edward McRobbie worked as a deep-sea diver in many different countries, including Australia. So great was his love of the sea that when he retired he worked as a night watchman on the boats in Leith Docks.
