Description
A busy street scene showing the High Street in Edinburgh, with St Giles cathedral on the left. There are a number of men, women and children in the street. The men are wearing top hats and carrying walking canes. The ladies wear dresses and bonnets or hats. There are four horse and carts each carrying a load, one of which is barrels. A small dog runs across the road in the foreground. The buildings on the High Street can be seen, there is smoke coming from the chimneys. The north side of St Giles is clearly visible.
