Cramond House dates from around 1680, and was built for the Inglis of Cramond. The house underwent substantial alterations in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Originally a separate village, Cramond is now a suburb in the north west of Edinburgh. Set alongside the beautiful Almond Valley it retains a picturesque, village-like feel. Cramond Harbour at the mouth of the Almond is a popular location for recreational sailing.
