This is probably the Graf Zeppelin, a German passenger airship built in 1928 which had flown more than 1.6 million km by the time of its decommissioning in 1937.
It was spotted over Edinburgh skies three times between 1930 and 1932. You can read the
flight log of the Graf Zeppelin flights to Britain
in the early 1930s.
