Title
The Argyle and Sutherland Highlanders. Edinburgh Castle
Description
Soldiers are on parade on the Castle Esplanade. The soldiers wear highland dress which includes kilt, glengarry hat and sporran. Some of the highlanders are marching with rifles. There are some soldiers on horseback, these riders flank either side of the parade. Spectators are lined up to one side of the display. Near to the arched castle entrance way there is a horse-drawn carriage. Two monuments stand on the Esplanade, one of a cross the other of a man. In the background smoke rises from chimneys which form part of the cityscape.
