Biography

McLean is one of Britain's leading abstract painters, engaged in a constantly changing process of investigation. He has developed his own "language" of colours and shapes, which appear deceptively simple because of their directness, yet having the capacity to involve and seduce. Following a long tradition of other artists wrestling with such concepts, his work is nonetheless original and fresh.
