Morningside is a residential district in the south of Edinburgh. It lies to the south of Bruntsfield and the west of the Grange and Blackford Hill. Old Morningside School opened in 1823 at 140 Morningside Road and operated as a school until the end of the nineteenth century. Locally it was also known as the "Wee School" or the "Cuddy School" due to it's proximity to Cuddy Lane and the fact that a lot of the pupils arrived on horseback. Recently the building has been used the the Old Schoolhouse Christian Fellowship and laterly St Columbas Free Church.
