John Knox's house in the Royal Mile in Edinburgh is positioned behind the well in this image. Behind is a building with ornate pinnacles, which at the time was known as the John Knox Memorial Church. John Knox's House, reputedly the home of the 16th century Protestant Reformer, is situated on the High Street in Edinburgh. It dates from the late 15th century or early 16th century. It was restored in the 19th century. It is now open to the public as a museum and forms part of the Scottish Storytelling Centre.
