The blue and purple dress dates from the early 1980s and was bought from famous Edinburgh department store Jenners. It was bought to be worn at a Royal Garden Party at Holyrood Palace. Its bright colour conveyed a sense of occasion as well as respect for the Queen at a prestigious gathering.
